It's a fairly low mileage 1996 SAAB 900NG (2.3 N/A). Initial impressions are that is feels a hell of a lot more solid than the Jetta did, it's way more comfortable, and the shifter feels like I imagine shaking hands with gumby would feel.
And it just took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to get the key out of the ignition, but only 2 seconds to figure out there is no clutch start interlock...

I never even thought of needing a winter car here in the PNW (pdx area)

For me I need a winter/rainy season beater to avoid absolutely destroying my expensive suspension setup on the FR-S on the terrible curb like speed bumps that litter my work parking lot. In the summer I just ride a motorcycle to work.

She photographs well, lots of scattered scratches and dents all over.

Saabs have very good rust protection. Since it's a non-turbo, you can probably get away with using regular oil instead of mobil 1 synthetic. Though it might be a good idea to drop the oil pan and check the oil pickup screen and make sure it isn't obstructed.
If you're looking for a mechanic to work on it, make sure you go to one that has the Saab WIS. If you're in the west end of the Toronto area, I recommend you go to Christian at Aktive Motors.

Well I'm actually in Portland Or, so Toronto would be a bit of a hike :)

Haha, I heard that there is something strange about the key but I can't place it. Something to do with the shifter?

Needs to be in reverse to remove the key.
